Two awards, one brilliant team effort!

The Kids Network takes home two honours at the 2026 G15 Ethnicity in Housing Awards

Well this is some lovely news to share! The Kids Network has been recognised with not one, but TWO awards at the 2026 G15 Ethnicity in Housing Awards.

We were absolutely thrilled to receive Community Group of the Year and the CEO’s Choice Award at the ceremony, held at London’s County Hall on 16 October. It was a wonderful moment that really put smiles on the faces of everyone involved in making TKN into such a strong community.

A bit of recognition that means so much

The G15 Ethnicity in Housing Awards celebrate the achievements, leadership and contributions of people from ethnic minority backgrounds across the social housing sector, recognising all the wonderful people who are working to make their organisations and communities more inclusive.

This year’s awards brought together colleagues, residents and community groups from across London’s housing sector to celebrate the people making a positive difference. In our books, there were a lot of community heroes in that room!

And while many of the awards recognised incredible, inspiring individual achievements, we’re particularly proud that both of those we received recognise the wider team effort behind The Kids Network. We love knowing that these are truly shared with all of you!

It takes a city to raise a child

Our CEO, Louise Johns-Shepherd, shared her thoughts on how much the awards mean:

"We’re thrilled and honoured to have won Community Group of the Year and the CEO’s Choice Award at the G15 Ethnicity in Housing Awards. This recognition belongs to our volunteer mentors, our team and every partner who backs our work.

It takes a city to raise a child, and these awards celebrate what London can achieve when it comes together behind its children. When neighbours give their time, organisations open their doors and funders believe in what is possible, children discover that they belong and that their futures are bright. We are deeply grateful to the G15 for recognising that."

A heartfelt thank you and a giant pop of confetti for our brilliant community

None of our work happens – really, none of it – without the people who show up, lend a hand, open doors for little Londoners and place their full belief in what we’re doing.

To our wonderful volunteer mentors, our dedicated and hardworking team, our school and community partners, our generous funders and everyone who champions children alongside us: thank you! We wish we had a trophy to give to every single one of you – but we suspect that you’re all in it for the same reason we are. For the children.

And finally, another very special thank you goes out to G15 for showcasing the power of community – and to The Guinness Partnership for nominating us.

We’re feeling very proud, grateful and more inspired than ever to keep doing what we do. 💛
