A Big Little Update: Kicking Things Off Right

Curious about what we’ve been up to? From inspiring Little Londoners tackling challenges to kicking off our bold 5-year strategy, it’s been a whirlwind! Oh, and have you seen our shiny new website? Take a quick peek at what we’ve been doing and how you can get involved…

2025-2030 Strategy

Our new 5-year strategy is in full effect, and we’re aiming big! Our goal? Double the number of children we support with mentors. Here’s how we’re going to do it:

Every child who wants a mentor gets one

Every adult we work with has a fulfilling experience

Every aspect of our programme is truly child-led

Every action we take demonstrates our leadership in early intervention

Mentoring: Life-Changing, One Little Londoner at a Time

Our mentoring programme is where the magic happens. Take Marty and his mentee. Through regular sessions, Marty’s mentee has grown in confidence, resilience, and hope for the future, saying, “He makes me feel safe.”

And Cynthia? After struggling with bullying and isolation, her incredible mentor, Addison, helped her find the confidence to make new friends, prepare for secondary school, and even order bubble tea by herself!

It’s mentors like Marty and Addison who are making a real impact. And it’s not just the kids whose lives are changed. Our mentors say it best:

“It’s the chance to be a child again, almost.”
“Seeing my mentee accomplish new things… it’s something I’ll cherish forever.”
“The team does a brilliant job matching mentors and mentees. We had so many things in common, we bonded instantly.”

Big Thanks to the Walcot Foundation

Because of their support, 82 Little Londoners in Lambeth now have a mentor by their side.

One caregiver told us, “He always looks forward to their sessions each week”, while a mentor shared, “On the way home, he said he wished every day could be like this.”

We’re so proud to team up with a funder who believes every young Londoner deserves to thrive. Learn more about the Walcot Foundation.

But, Mentoring Isn’t the Only Way to Support Us: Run For Charity Instead!

If you’ve ever wanted to get active and give back at the same time, this is your chance! Whether it’s a 5k, a half marathon, or even a 105-mile challenge, running for charity is a fun and rewarding way to support The Kids Network.

Lily Shepherd, BBC film producer, took on the challenge of a half marathon (despite not being a “sporty” person) and says, “The idea of running even 10% of a half marathon seemed laughable,” she says. “But I’m doing it anyway, and it feels amazing to know I’m supporting a cause that really matters.”
