The Kids Network appoints Louise Johns-Shepherd as new CEO

The Kids Network are delighted to announce that Louise Johns-Shepherd has been appointed as the new CEO of the charity, taking over from our founder, Sarah Woodcock.

Louise has a wealth of experience from the charity and education sectors. From 2013 until 2023 she was the CEO of the Centre for Literacy in Primary Education and before that she was a London Headteacher and Teacher.

Louise said: “I am so pleased to be part of The Kids Network and am looking forward to continuing the fabulous ground-breaking work alongside the children, volunteers, staff and trustees. Thanks to Sarah’s vision and determination, TKN is an important and crucial support in so many children’s lives. It is an honour to be the person who is chosen to build on the strong foundations and to take TKN into its next phase of development.”

Interim Chair of Trustees, Naa Acquah said: ‘I am thrilled to welcome Louise as the new CEO of TKN. After a robust recruitment campaign, Louise’s extensive experience, strong vision for TKN and passion for the TKNs mission made her our prime candidate and I am sure she will excel in this role.

I would like to say a huge thank you to Sarah Woodcock. It was her vision and drive to support children across London that has brought this wonderful charity to life. I will be forever grateful to Sarah and wish her well in all her future endeavours..’
